About me

Hello, beautiful

I'm so glad you've stopped by.

My name is Jackie.  I'm a mom to two amazing children, have been with my chef husband for 19 years, and we have a crazy yorkie pup named Rex.

Together, we're living life in Africa, where I was born and raised.  I love Jesus, and people.

I also really like pancakes, words, typography, books, singing, music, dancing, flowers, decor, cooking and clothes. I can sit for hours quietly watching rain fall, and I enjoy observing people as they go about their lives. I especially enjoy photography and capturing the every day moments that make up our lives. But above all these things, my heart is for hospitality.

This blog is the culmination of many things, including a whispered dream. The recording of a journey of discovery of who I really am; a journey that begins, and ends, with Jesus, the Writer of my script, the Director of my story. A story that includes an amazing cast, some of whom I don't yet know.

My life is by no means perfect and I often fail, but it is a life where I seek to live by Christ's principles, seek the beauty in people and things and fight for joy.  A life I'm embracing, whatever the circumstances, and chosing to live to the full.

I pray you'll be blessed, encouraged and inspired here; to live life.  On purpose.  With passion and grace.

These words by F Scott Fitzgerald sum it up beautifully for me.
"For what it's worth; it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be.  There's no time limit, stop whenever you want.  You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing.  We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it.  And I hope you see things that startle you.  I hope you feel things you never felt before.  I hope you meet people with a different point of view.  I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."
Thank you for joining me on my journey!
